Important update –
new UK safety regulations
Explained

From 1 June 2025, new professional standards introduced by the Nursing and Midwifery Council apply to non-surgical cosmetic treatments in the UK.

To protect your safety and to remain fully compliant, we have updated our booking process.

Why can’t I have treatment on the same day?

Mandatory face-to-face consultation:
Prescribers (nurses and midwives) must now carry out a physical, in-person assessment before prescribing any injectable medicine such as Botox.
Remote consultations (video or telephone) are not permitted.

Two-visit requirement:
Botox is a Prescription-Only Medicine (POM).
Your prescription can only be issued and ordered after your face-to-face consultation.
This means two separate visits are required:

  • one for the consultation, and

  • one for the treatment.

Cooling-off period:
Professional guidance from organisations such as the Joint Council for Cosmetic Practitioners requires a minimum 24-hour cooling-off period.
This allows you time to consider the risks and benefits and ensures you are fully comfortable with your decision.

For this reason, consultation and treatment can no longer take place on the same day.

Planning your treatments – 6-month validity

Once you have completed your mandatory face-to-face consultation and your prescription is issued:

  • your prescription is valid for 6 months

  • you can plan and book your follow-up treatments more easily during this period.

Prescription fee

The prescribing consultation costs £40.
This fee will be deducted from the cost of your future treatment.

Thank you for your understanding.
